SENIOR ESG ADVISOR

Permian is a leading fund administration firm dedicated to providing comprehensive services to private equity investing firms and fund managers.

Role overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior ESG Advisor to join our team. In this role, you will not only work closely with private equity firms and fund managers, offering expert guidance on integrating ESG factors into their investment and reporting processes, but you will also be a pivotal member in developing our new ESG business area. Your contributions will significantly influence the development of our ESG strategies and plans, helping our clients achieve sustainable growth and meet regulatory and stakeholder expectations. While knowledge of the financial industry is a valuable asset, it is not a strict requirement.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead efforts to build and shape the ESG business area within our company, contributing to strategic planning and goal setting.
• Manage relationships with clients, acting as the main ESG contact and ensuring excellent service.
• Maintain a focus on the technical execution of Permian’s ESG services, acting as the primary subject matter expert.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing customized guidance in areas such as ESG reporting, compliance (e.g., SFDR, EU Taxonomy, CSRD, ESRS), and ESG risk management.
• Develop tailored ESG strategies and frameworks for clients to enhance their investment practices.
• Stay abreast of global ESG trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure clients' compliance and leadership in sustainability.
• Deliver training and workshops to clients to enhance their understanding and implementation of ESG principles.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support business development through subject matter expertise.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in finance, environmental science, sustainability, or a related field. Advanced degree or a recognized ESG certification is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in ESG-related roles, such as regulatory compliance, sustainability reporting, or ESG advisory services, ideally within experience from working with multiple organizations or consulting firms.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans in new business areas.
• Strong familiarity with ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting tools (e.g., GRI, SASB, PRI).
• Although deep expertise in SFDR, CSRD, and Taxonomy to the financial fund industry may not yet be common, the successful candidate should have a keen interest in staying informed and building knowledge in these areas as they evolve.
• Excellent analytical skills for evaluating complex data and providing actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse clients and stakeholders.
• Capability to work independently and manage multiple client engagements in a dynamic environment.
